AABP Student Membership

Student members shall be veterinary students at AVMA accredited colleges of veterinary medicine. Students may form affiliated student chapters. Dues for student members are $20.00 US per year. Join AABP.

Benefits to student members of AABP

  • Dues of only $20 per year
  • All first year students are provided complimentary membership. Deadline is within 90 days of the start of your first year classes.
  • Free pre-registration at AABP’s Annual Conference as a student.
  • Dues are only $20 for the first year following graduation.
  • Free conference registration at one Annual Conference within the first three years after graduation.
  • Students have electronic access to the newsletter and all of AABP’s other publications (Proceedings and the Bovine Practitioner) via the AABP website.
  • Eligibility to apply for the Amstutz Scholarship ($7,500).
  • Eligibility to apply for a Student Externship Grant (up to $1000 per award).
  • Eligibility for the AABP Education Grant (up to $1000 per award).
  • Eligibility for the AABP- Merck Animal Health Student Recognition Award ($5,000).
  • Eligibility for the AABP Foundation - Zoetis Veterinary Student Scholarship ($5,000).
  • Student chapters are eligible to apply for $500 grants from AABP to fund local chapter-sponsored events, speakers, etc. The local faculty representative requests approval from the District Director to allow disbursement of these chapter grants.
  • Eligibility to compete in the Student Case Presentation Competition ($1500 first place and $750 second place in both Clinical Case and Research categories). Each case competition presenter (10 total) receives $500 to defray travel and housing expenses.
  • Subscription to AABP-L, a world-wide electronic listserve/discussion group for food animal practitioners.
  • Access to the AABP’s online job database, where members post job opportunities and resumes.
